May 30th: Chinese Drama Cluba to perform "Forging for Fiction"

On Wednesday May 30th, the Chinese Drama Club will be performing *Forging for Fiction *弄真成假*: *a romantic comedy written by the 1940s female playwright Yang Jiang 杨绛. It tells the story of two families living in Shanghai, one wealthy and one poor, and their children's attempts to strike it rich and marry the people they love. Against the backdrop of a competitive and conflict-ridden world, a vain heiress convinces herself that she has found a future husband, a pedantic academic conceals his hopeless love, a young upstart charms his way into the richest homes, and a stubborn young woman tries to determine her own destiny.

The bilingual performance held in Geidt Hall 1003 will be in both Mandarin and English, but no background in Chinese history or language will be necessary to enjoy the evening! A reception with food and drinks will be held from 6-7 and the performance will last from 7-8. Tickets are free of charge.
