My name is Liangying Li and I graduated in 2019 with a minor in Japanese while I pursued a Biomedical Engineering Bachelor degree as my major and I am currently a PhD student in pharmacology and toxicology at UCD.

I already speak the language before I decided to pursue a minor in Japanese, and I decided to do this because in the medical related careers Japanese can become very useful at times since Japan does have several state-of-the-art research projects going on in the field and I would like to sharpen my Japanese skills to the next level. Being able to speak the language fluently could come in handy in my professional career for a better communication across the globe and a broader range of materials to read through for learning purposes. Being able to speak foreign languages has always been a very competitive tool to have in my skill set especially in the STEM field.
